British Institute for Learning and Development Quality Mark -The Learning and Education Provider’s Mark of Distinction
As a learning and development professional you understand the importance of setting and maintaining high quality standards within your organisation and throughout your provision. The BILD Quality Mark affords you an opportunity to prove your adherence to best practice within learning and development.
The Quality Mark process is much more than simply a route to achievement of an award. This comprehensive exercise enables you to benchmark, monitor and improve your learning and development activities using the expertise of an assigned consultant. He or she will provide support along the way with regular updates, dialogues and assistance on your route to achievement.
Post-Achievement
Following your success, you are afforded the right to use the British Institute for Learning and Development Quality Mark logo on your literature, website and associated promotional materials.

- Commitment to quality – by embarking on and completing the Quality Mark programme, your organisation is demonstrating its commitment to quality; assuring customers of the high standard of service which they can expect when engaging with your organisation.
- Recruitment and retention – by completing the Quality Mark programme, your organisation will demonstrate to current and prospective members of staff the high standard of work achieved at the organisation; attracting and retaining talented personnel.
- Competitive advantage - when engaging in tender submissions and commercial bids, your organisation will have a competitive advantage over others which do not possess a quality assurance award.
- Register of Quality Mark holders - your organisation is placed upon the BILD register of Quality Mark holders. This register is promoted via the BILD website and at promotional events.
- Connect Magazine – we feature new Quality Mark holders as part of a regular update in our publications and joint publications and in our mail and email updates.
- Conference and Event Discounts – Quality Mark holders are entitled to a discount on fees for BILD and BILD partner events
- Awards – Holders are eligible to enter the World of Learning Annual Awards
The process to achieving the BILD Quality Mark
*Non members will be asked to apply for BILD membership as the first step in the Quality Mark programme.
The support visit and all email and telephone dialogues are conducted under the terms of a confidentiality agreement.
In order to obtain the British Institute Quality Mark, applicant organisations must submit evidence of planning and performance in seven core organisational areas and one specialism.
