Fundraising Support for E-Learning Equipment Required
I would like to draw your attention to fundraising activity being carried out by one of our members, Darren Hockley from DeltaNet International Ltd.
In December 2008 Darren will set out on a 180 mile walk along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to raise money for MacIntyre Charity, an organisation that provides learning, support and care for more than 700 children and adults across the UK .
Womaston School , run by MacIntyre charity, is a residential, 52 week, flexible boarding school for up to 18 young people between the ages of 11 - 19. Many of the students at Womaston School have Autism, severe or moderate learning disabilities, epilepsy, behavioural problems, communication difficulties, sensory impairments and may exhibit challenging behaviour if frightened or confused. As many students have experienced exclusion and rejection before coming to Womaston, the school works to reverse that feeling, before helping them to build on areas of strength and develop trust, communication and self-esteem.
MacIntyre Charity is hoping to raise £300,000 in their current appeal to improve the facilities available to the students, and money raised by Darren's efforts will be used towards purchasing computers with interactive screens and specialised software. This equipment provides an enjoyable and stimulating educational experience for the students and is used to break through the barriers that can be caused by severe communication needs.

Many thanks
