Young Pioneers is a charity run by young people, for young people. It was set up by a 12 year old school boy, Luke Lancaster, who wanted to enable other young people to make a difference. At present, there are a huge number of young people within the UK and globally, engaged in training, coaching and mentoring activities for which they receive no formal recognition, and for which no professional institute exists.
The BILD has recently awarded Luke, CEO of Young Pioneers, Honorary Fellowship, in recognition of the work that he has done in recognising the role of young people globally, and the role they play in training, developing and coaching others.
The BILD has become the recognised “home” of young people informally engaged in delivering training, coaching and mentoring, with the creation of a junior membership level in conjunction with Young Pioneers.
Karen Velasco, Chairman of the BILD, explains in more detail what Junior membership means and the benefits provided to young people at WOLCE.
