The BILD recognises that there are some members who may wish to continue with their membership but who are retired from employment. In order to make the continuation of membership more possible, the BILD has introduced a retired member category. All retired members will pay a reduced rate of membership and be able to enjoy the full benefits of the Institute. The following guidelines apply:

1. The member must no longer be in employment
2. Should their employment status change, they must inform the Institute immediately and then the full membership subscription will apply.
3. Retired members will get a 50% discount on membership each year
4. Retired members will get a 50% discount on the annual conference
5. All other benefits will apply to the retired member
