Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA) – Now Available!

The British Institute for Learning and Development ® (the BILD) would like to announce the introduction of the Accreditation of Prior Achievement (APA) route to upgrading your membership.

Within the current and future membership of the BILD, it is recognised that there is a requirement for individuals with considerable Learning and Development experience, who do not have the specified level of qualifications, to upgrade their membership from the Associate (ABILD) and Member (MBILD) grades to a higher level.

The APA procedure will be valid, efficient and commensurate with the cost to the individual.

The process for members:

  • Identify which level of membership you wish to upgrade to
  • Using the CV template (provided in the download section at the bottom of the page), send in details of your CV, highlighting your relevant Learning and Development experience and qualifications
  • You will then be asked to supply evidence to support your application for upgrade, which will be supervised by a member of the BILD Membership Committee and the BILD office staff
  • The evidence you will be asked to prepare will be based on elements of your experience selected from your CV by the Membership Committee member and will be linked to one or more of the mandatory units for Levels 4 and 5 (ENTO) - depending on the grade of membership your are applying for
  • The Membership Committee member will go through the evidence supplied and a decision will be reached as to whether a higher level of membership can be awarded
  • The cost will be £500 + VAT
