A highly impressive group of industry experts and leading practitioners will provide their insight into the latest trends in business learning and development at the World of Learning Conference 2007.   Among the current hot topics to be addressed in this well respected two-day programme are employing effective mobile learning, developing senior staff and the realities of informal learning.

This year’s conference, which takes place on 14 & 15 November at the NEC in Birmingham, features interactive seminars and workshops as well as discussion  forums to help maximise the attendees’ participation at the event.  Delegates will also benefit from high profile case studies from organisations including Barclaycard, BBC, Dorchester County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Reuters and STA Travel.

Highlights include:

Opening Address: Investing in Skills – improving business productivity through training

Hilary Chadwick, Director of the National Employer Service department within the Learning & Skills Council will open the Conference with an examination of how organisations can enhance their business through effective learning.  Hilary will offer an enlightening insight into the employer’s role in driving skills and examine the effect of issues such as the increase in mobile and remote working and the impact of government initiatives.

Future of Learning Forum – Innovation in learning (Day two)

A leading international panel of experts will be examining the changing face of learning and development in this highly charged session.  Among the issues being debated are how to establish a more flexible approach to delivering learning to staff, utilising new technologies and encouraging innovation within organisations

New for 2007 - interactive workshops

Day one of the Conference features a number of interactive workshops designed to equip delegates with the skills that will enable them to be more influential within their organisation.  These hands-on sessions include how to become a better leader, developing influencing skills and methods of motivating staff to undertake learning and development.

Closing Address: The business of learning is business 

Consultant Donald Clark, one of the original founders of Epic Group plc, will round off the Conference by exploring how to inspire high performance in others t
