In this presentation Jonathan Searle, Lecturer in Defence Simulation, will describe some of the work of the Defence Academy. Further details to follow.

11.50     The Application of Serious Games to Vocational Learning.
In this presentation Dr Majid Al-Kader, MD of Skills2learn, will discuss the use of Virtual Reality and advanced e-learning techniques in support of vocational learning. Case studies drawn from differing vocational applications will be used to illustrate the presentation.

13.50     Human Factors in the Design and Evaluation of Serious Games
In this presentation Professor Bob Stone, Chair in Interactive Multimedia Systems at the University of Birmingham, will present the results of recent concept demonstrator projects from the Human Factors Integration Defence Technology Centre research programme, illustrating the importance of adopting human-centred design principles throughout the development of games technology-based training programmes.

14.50     The Application of 3D Web Technologies for Commerce and the Business Sector
In this presentation Justin Bovington, CEO of Rivers Run Red, will discuss the use of virtual worlds in the workplace. With specific reference to the Financial Sector, Justin will use case studies to demonstrate the relevance of the Immersive Workspace as enterprise is tasked with coming up with new ways of working and thinking in order to meet business objectives in the 21st century.
