1. Unique European Online Project to be launched at Security Forum
A "unique, innovative project" to strengthen cooperation between European police forces will be featured at the Third International Forum on E-Learning for Defence and Security, which will take place at Online Educa Berlin on November 28, 2007.

2. New Virtual Academy will improve European Civil Protection
The European Commission is to use innovative new communication and training methods to improve civil protection. Virtual class rooms, blended learning, e-learning, online forums and chat rooms will be part of the new European Virtual Academy for Civil Protection, which is being developed by the European Commission and a core group of experts from several European countries. The project consortium includes the German Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) and Siemens Business Services, together with their partner for the project, bit media e-learning solution.

The agenda for the Third International Forum on E-Learning for Defence and Security includes keynote presentations from top e-learning professionals and security experts, together with a programme of interactive sessions on topics including online training and improved security cooperation, terrorist use of the web, e-learning and emergency preparedness, security awareness and information security risk management.

The Third International Forum on E-learning for Defence and Security will be hosted by
The New Security Foundation

The Foundation has two main objectives. The first is to conduct research into emerging security issues and to produce information and analysis, which can be made available to decision makers in both the public and private sectors. The second is to provide an international forum for debate and discussion about the nature of modern security and its implications.
A network of experts with a background in academia, government, intellige
