10.45 Keynote introduction to the United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) Education & Skills Sector Group - Richard Parry will highlight the government’s international trade strategy for the sector and outline plans to exploit key market opportunities supported by the formation of partnerships & alliances with key stakeholders in the sector such as the BILD
11.15 Developing International Markets – A large company case study World Wide Learning will give details of how the UKTI have assisted them in developing overseas partnerships and alliances as an integral aspect to developing international markets within their organisation.
11.45 First Time Exporting – A SME case study Mike Long, Managing Director of Mike Long Associates presents his experience of participating in UKTI’s Passport to Export scheme and how it helped him to export successfully for the first time.
12.10 Supporting Success in Global Markets –UKTI’s International Trade Advisor, Graham Snape (South East) will highlight the work of regional international trade teams within UKTI’s global trade support organisation and the services they can provide to identify and successfully develop appropriate international markets for businesses in the education, training & the knowledge transfer sector.

13.30 Market Opportunities –Siva Sundram, Commercial Attaché with responsibility for the Education & Training Sector, British High Commission, Malaysia – will illustrate the role and support Commercial Officers in our Embassies & High Commissions can offer to support your effective market entry and business development. They will detail specific opportunities for HRD, Vocational and Corporate Training in Malaysia & Singapore.
14.15 The BILD - International Events and Activities – In this joint presentation Jack Wills, Chair of the Institute, and Margaret Wallace Co-opted Director of the Institute, will give details of the Institute’s newly acquired UKTI Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) status and how this will be used to support BILD members to further their international business opportunities in the coming year. A short case study will also be given of how UKTI has supported BILD’s previous missions and research activities in the Far East and is to continue to do so under the Passport to Export scheme.
