In this presentation, Prof. Jonathan Garnett, Director of the Institute for Work Based Learning at Middlesex University, will focus on the recognition, creation and use of knowledge to enhance the intellectual capital of organisations.

In this presentation, Dr. Pauline Armsby, Leader of the Doctorate Programme at the Institute for Work Based Learning at Middlesex University, will present an evaluation and discussion on the impact of wbl professional doctorate projects on candidates, organisations and the wider community.

13.30 Its not just about driving trains
In this presentation, Nick Rushby and Jan Seabrook, of Conation Technologies, will describe how the rail industry makes extensive use of simulation for training in a wide variety of occupations. However, deploying simulations to meet the complex organisational requirements of the twenty-first century railway is not straightforward and the presentation will look at the ways in which simulation is currently being used and then consider some surrounding the integration of simulation into the organisational training process.

In this presentation, Dr. Eric Sandelands, Director of Corporate Learning Consultants Ltd, will describe how Emerald InTouch has enabled Emerald and other organisations achieve top level objectives.
14.50 Using technologies to meet learners needs
In this presentation, Darren Sidnick, Head of Innovation and Research at Ufi, will describe the background and evolution of learndirect learning for individuals and organisations and then consider the challenges for the next 5 years to meet expectations.
